Tricia Kehm was hired as a kindergarten teacher for Community Consolidated School District 15 in Palatine, Illinois in August of 1990. She taught at Jane Addams Elementary School from then until June of 1998. In August of 1999, she began teaching at Pleasant Hill Elementary School. She is retiring in June of 2025 and by then, will have taught over 1,000 students in her nearly 35 year career.
*Mrs. Kehm was married in the summer of 2001 (and invited her 2000-2001 kindergarten class to the ceremony!). Her kindergarten classes from 1991-2001 would have known her as Mrs./Ms. Francis.
Letters for Mrs. Kehm was a project started by her daughter, Mackenzie, with the hope of reaching as many of her past and current students as possible.
Mackenzie helped out in her mom's classroom almost every year growing up and witnessed firsthand her love for teaching and her students. It seemed that the feeling was mutual because students and their parents often exclaimed, "You're Mrs. Kehm's daughter?!" before sharing their fondness of her.
In an effort to give them a space to share the impact she had on them and to give her a truly meaningful retirement gift, Letters for Mrs. Kehm was born.
*This project is a gift in the making, meaning it's a SURPRISE! Please do not mention it to her if you see her before she receives it in June of 2025. Thank you for your help in keeping this under wraps!
Thank you for helping keep this a surprise for Mrs. Kehm!
